New Eminem album 'weeks' away from completion

Eminem Release New and old. The release date for Eminem's forthcoming new album, 'Relapse', is set to be confirmed within "weeks", the star's pal 50 Cent has confirmed.

The follow-up to 2004's 'Encore' is currently being mixed by the rapper and Dr. Dre.

50 Cent, who raps on the album, also told Hollyscoop.com that he is a prominent voice on the forthcoming LP.

"His [Eminem] new album is almost actually done," he said. "I went to Detroit to mix my song 'I Get It In' [set for 50 Cent's forthcoming album 'Before I Self-Destruct'] with Dr. Dre – Eminem is currently mixing his album right now.

"It won't be more than maybe two weeks before they start trying to figure out when they will start scheduling the release of his actual project."

When asked if he appears prominently on the album, the rapper added, "Of course! I will be all over the record, you kidding me? You think I won't take advantage of the opportunity for everybody to look at me and listen to me. Yes I will!"

New Eminem, 50 Cent songs hit radio and Web

Eminem's Rare Albums Collection. Listen and Download. Right Now.!!!!! There's still no solidified release dates for upcoming albums from Eminem and 50 Cent, but new music from both rappers has emerged in the past 24 hours.

Eminem's "Crack a Bottle," which features 50 Cent as well as his mentor Dr. Dre, leaked online Tuesday; an earlier version without the guest appearances had leaked in November, much to the dismay of Eminem.

"It wasn't close to finished, and it even has me doing guide vocals for Dre as a suggestion of how he could lay his verses down," he told Billboard at the time. His first album in more than four years, "Relapse," is expected this spring via Interscope Records.

Meanwhile, a new 50 Cent song, "I Get It In," debuted Monday on New York radio station Hot 97. Its parent album, "Before I Self Destruct," was originally due December 9 but was delayed while the rapper continued recording. An Interscope spokesperson was unable to confirm a rumored February 3 release date.

An earlier single "Get Up," stalled last year at No. 23 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. 50 Cent's last album, "Curtis," peaked at No. 2 in September 2007.
